Die in einer lateinischen und deutschen Ausgabe 1493 bei Anton Koberger in Nürnberg fertiggestellte, sog. Schedelsche Weltchronik gilt als eines der ehrgeizigsten Projekte der Frühdruckzeit. In dieser Arbeit werden die Arbeitsabläufe bei der Herstellung anhand der Drucke, handschriftlichen Vorlagen und Quellen u.a. mit analytischen Methoden rekonstruiert. Der gesamte Komplex der Weltchronik kann somit neu bewertet werden.
The so-called Nuremberg Chronicle is regarded as one of the most ambitious projects in the time of incunabula. It was printed in 1493 by Anton Koberger in both, a Latin and a German edition. This work reconstructs the production of the chronicle on the basis of the prints, hand-written models and sources, using analytical methods among others. As a result the Nuremberg Chronicle can be newly assessed as a whole.
