The series Studies in Oriental Religions aims at publishing high quality research on religions which have their origin in the Near East or the Asian world. Committed to its founders, Hans-Joachim Klimkeit and Walther Heissig, the series has a strong focus on Central Asia and is devoted to comparative religious as well as historical topics. The wide thematic range varies from historical religions like Manichaeism to aspects of smaller peoples of the Near East or the Christian Orient. This wide approach makes it possible to recognize entanglements, interactions and comparable religious processes from the Eastern Mediterranean to India, Japan or Mongolia and thus generate new impulses for research.
