Edited by Friedhelm Hoffmann, Cary J. Martin and Karl-Theodor Zauzich
Enchoria, founded in 1971, is the only journal worldwide devoted to Demotic studies. Its pronounced goal is to promote the special subject of Demotic studies within the field of Egyptology, especially by means of first editions of Demotic texts, generally reproduced by high quality photographs on a scale of 1:1. The Demotistische Literaturübersicht (Overview of Demotic Literature) is an indispensable resource, offering quick, up-to-date and annotated access to all publications relevant to Demotic studies. Another focus is on Coptic studies. Here, too, attention is paid to first editions of texts. Apart from academic articles, Enchoria publishes miscellanea and reviews. Unusually extensive indices constitute a special advantage of the journal.
