Edited by Hartmut Kühne
This series deals with the final analysis of the archaeological record and the recovered objects of the interdisciplinary excavation project Tell Sheikh Hamad (Syria) which led to the identification of the Assyrian city of Dur-Katlimmu and of the Aramaean-Parthian-Roman town of Magdalu / Magdala. The archaeological record is comprehensively described, analyzed and embraced to settlement biographies. If possible, the objects are treated directly related to their stratigraphic context; in case they are too numerous they are dealt with separately but put in context via a clear frame of reference. This also accounts for the publication of the numerous text findings whose volumes are marked by the addition Texte 1-6. The results of the interdisciplinary investigations on the development of the environment during the Late Holocene have been published; further studies on matters of environment and life science are continuing. Studies on the urban structure and social function of the Assyrian city of Dur-Katlimmu are under preparation.
