The Jahrbuch für Europäische Überseegeschichte provides information on the history of relations of Europe to non-European cultures, on ongoing research, debates, controversies and gaps in research. Main topics are the manifold and various interrelations between Europe and overseas, as far as they have been historically accessible since antiquity.
In the course of a conceptual and methodological reorientation, the periodical „Globalgeschichte / Global History“ was conceived, which is the successor to the "Jahrbuch für Europäische Überseegeschichte".
