The book series Jüdische Musik. Studien und Quellen zur jüdischen Musikkultur, founded in 2004 by the outstanding scholar of religion Karl E. Grözinger, has been published since 2013 by the internationally renowned pianist, musicologist and professor of the history of Jewish music in Weimar, Jascha Nemtsov. The series collects monographs, edited volumes and source publications on the history and theory of Jewish music. The topics covered range from klezmer and aspects of synagogal music to the first systematically developed history of the "New Jewish School" in art music. The growing book series, with its wide range of topics, its quality and innovativeness, provides a unique compendium and helps to establish Jewish music as an important field of musicological research.
