Our webshop does not offer the option of selecting Switzerland as the delivery address in the order form. This is for tax reasons, as we do not want our digital products to be taxable in Switzerland. Therefore, please order e-books via your bookseller, printed books can be ordered directly from us. You are welcome to send us an e-mail for this purpose. Please use the e-mail address above.

We offer our e-books in PDF format. There are different options in both shops:
a) www.harrassowitz-verlag.de
After payment via PayPal and conclusion of the contract, you will receive a download link by email, which you can use to download the e-book. To do this, you must provide a valid email address during the ordering process. Please note that only PayPal is available as a payment option for e-books.
b) www.harrassowitz-library.com
After payment via Stripe and conclusion of the contract, you will receive a download link by email, which you can use to download the e-book. Alternatively, you can also view your purchase online. Please note that only the “Stripe” payment option is available for e-books.

Titles that are offered as print-on-demand products (POD or BoD) by wholesalers are listed in our webshop like all other books, but are printed and dispatched by the respective wholesaler. If your order contains a POD or BoD book, delivery may be made in two shipments from different service providers. You can also order POD or BoD books from any bookshop that is affiliated with the relevant wholesaler.

Depending on the shop, you can choose between “purchase on account,” “PayPal,” “Stripe,” or “prepayment” as payment options for your order.
E-book orders are an exception; only “PayPal” or “Stripe” are available as payment methods.
If you choose prepayment, you will receive a pro forma invoice you can pay e.g. by bank transfer or credit card.

If the order value is over € 100, shipping within Germany is free of charge. Outside Germany, this applies to an order value over € 300.
Below these order values, shipping and handling charges apply:
- within Germany: 1,50 €,
- within the EU: 8,50 €,
- to countries outside the EU: 25,00 € and
- Overseas (e.g., USA/Japan/Australia) $25.00

These shipping and handling charges are only valid for orders without discount. For orders from authors and book stores, the actual shipping costs will be charged.

Please also note that deliveries to PO box addresses are only possible for consignments weighing less than 1 kilogramme.

If the title you have ordered is in stock, it will usually be delivered within Germany within 3 working days. Please note that delivery times may vary depending on the country. However, we generally aim to deliver within 5-8 days within the EU and within 3 weeks outside the EU/overseas.

If an author has placed an order with us before, the shipping system will automatically substract the authors’ discount. As a precaution, you may point out your being an author by checking the field "I am Harrassowitz Verlag author" when placing your order online.
Our online shop will not distinguish between author and non-author and will always show you the price for non-authors. The actual invoice will show a lower sum.

Any contributor to one of our books listed on the title page, thus having contributed substantially to the publication, is considered an author. Contributors with an article in a publication who are not listed on the title page will receive a discount only on the volume to which they have contributed.

Our shipments usually arrive at the customer's address within 3 business days in Germany, within 5-8 days in Europe, and within 3 weeks in the rest of the world. If these deadlines are exceeded by one week, please make a claim. As tracking data is no longer available 3 months after dispatch, we ask for your understanding that we can no longer accept any claims after this time.
