Alltagskulturen Chinas und seiner Nachbarn
Edited by Mareile Flitsch, University of Zurich
Wolfram Eberhard already used the term “local cultures” to designate the phenomenon of regional diversity in China, a topic researchers have dealt with intensely for a long time. Today, it is worth paying regard to everyday conditions that are rapidly changing in the centers and peripheries of China. It is also time to take a look at everyday culture references and interdependencies between China and adjoining societies. Directly or indirectly, more or less, but always being aware of their existence, they refer to China and its regions. The series publishes studies providing information about the intertwined (material) cultures of China and its neighbors, thus stimulating further research agendas.
