The Trierer Winckelmannsprogramm contains the written version of the annual testimonial lecture in honor of the birthday of Johann Joachim Winckelmann, founder of classical archaeology as an academic discipline, at the department of Classical Archaeology of the University of Trier. The series publishes lectures that deal with current questions of the subject and, at the same time, offer an overview over methods, content and results. The Trierer Winckelmannsprogramme were founded in 1979 by Günter Grimm and have been continued by Torsten Mattern and Markus Trunk.
