Studien zur Urbanisierung Nordmesopotamiens Edited by Peter Pfälzner The series Studien zur Urbanisierung Nordmesopotamiens, edited by Peter Pfälzner, constitutes the final publication on excavations in Northeast Syria, untertaken by the editor within the context of a research program of the same name. Serie A: Ausgrabungen 1998-2001 in der Zentralen Oberstadt von Tall Mozan/ Urkes Edited by Peter Pfälzner The series Studien zur Urbanisierung Nordmesopotamiens, edited by Peter Pfälzner, constitutes the final publication on excavations in Northeast Syria, untertaken by the editor within the context of a research program of the same name. Series A presents the final results of field work in Tall Mozan/Urkeš, a large town structure in the third and second millennium B.C. in the Upper Ḫabūr region: architecture and stratigraphy, small findings, scientific analyses, ceramics and tomb evidence. Apart from details on evidence and findings, the volumes present an overview over the development of the town and its functional structure, as well as an evaluation of its meaning concerning the urbanization process of the region. The publications offer important new perceptions with respect to chronology and set new priorities in the question of an urban collapse due to climatic deviations at the end of the third millennium.
Serie D: Supplementa Edited by Peter Pfälzner The supplements to the series Studien zur Urbanisierung Nordmesopotamiens will comprise those publications that are connected with the archaeological excavations published in the same series (A-C) but exceed an excavation report since they constitute research with a regional or trans-regional approach. Thus, these volumes deal, in a general way, with the topic of the urbanization of North Mesopotamia in the third and second millennium B.C.
