Deutsches Archiv für Erforschung des Mittelalters
Edited on behalf of the Monumenta Germaniae Historica by Enno Bünz, Martina Hartmann, Claudia Märtl and Stefan Petersen

The journal Deutsches Archiv für die Erforschung des Mittelalters (German Archive for Medieval Research) is published by the Monumenta Germaniae Historica, which seeks to serve the scholarly study of the medieval history of Germany and Europe through critical editions and studies of sources. Each volume consists of two issues, each of which is divided into an essay and a review section. The essay section contains descriptive and source-critical studies on the history of the Middle Ages including its ancillary sciences. The detailed review section, which also contains articles published independently in anthologies and journals, reports on the results of international research on the Middle Ages.
The journal has been published since 1937 (Vol. 1-7 still entitled "Deutsches Archiv für Geschichte des Mittelalters") and replaces the predecessor journals "Archiv der Gesellschaft für Ältere Deutsche Geschichtskunde" (Vol. 1-12 [1820-1874]) and "Neues Archiv der Gesellschaft für Ältere Deutsche Geschichtskunde" (Vol. 1-50 [1876-1935]).

Digital subscriptions and individual articles of this journal can be purchased through our e-library.
