Starting with volume 81 in 2026 the Hebbel Jahrbuch will be published by Harrassowitz Verlag. It was created as part of the public activities of the Hebbel-Gesellschaft, founded in 1926, and has developed over many decades into a forum for Hebbel research. The yearbook publishes original contributions by numerous scholars from around the world on the German playwright Friedrich Hebbel. In addition to biographical discussions, the focus is on analyzing individual works or groups of works, as well as topics related to their creation. Increasingly, aspects of the history of reception will also be addressed.
