This series is intended as a broad forum for the publication of research findings from the fields of linguistics, literature, culture, media, and communication studies on emotions and affects.
The profile of this publication corresponds to a research concept that understands emotions as socially constructed entities that are realized in actual social practice.
The series has an interdisciplinary focus: its aim is to create a space for research that is characterized by a diversity of theories and methods that can productively utilize the focus and flexibility of the concept of emotion as a discursive, communicative, and semiotic construct and provide new impetus for research. The spectrum encompasses both current and historical perspectives that are theoretically grounded or based on an empirical approach.
E-Figurations. Contributions to Interdisciplinary Emotion Research considers various formats: dissertations and postdoctoral theses, other monographs, and anthologies. The publications usually appear in German and English.
