The twelve articles in this collection explore various aspects of Turkish influence on Bulgarian. After a substantial survey article, the eleven following articles focus on more specific aspects of Turkish influence on the language of literature (D. Vojnikov, L. Vazov), on dialects (Shumen), on word formation (suffix -lik, loan compounds) and on expressive devices (reduplication: bira-mira). Bulgarian attitudes to Turkisms over the years are also amply documented.
