In the series Arabische Studien, scholarly editions and translations of classical Arabic texts are published as well as studies on such texts. Until now, several fields of classical Arabic literature are represented, such as classical poetry, magic and historical or religious literature. In addition, monographs on aspects of classical Arabic literature have been published, as, for example, the relation of sound and sense in classical Arabic poetry or the layout of medieval Arabic manuscripts. The language of the published works is German or English.
